TranSynd is a much better fluid to use than Dextron. It is much better at dissipating heat in the tranny. Lots of good articles on it in this forum.

You need to go thru 2 cycles of filling with TranSynd before you can go to the longer change cycles (48 mos for the fluid and 36 months for the filters for the 3000 series transmission with 100% TranSynd).

So, yes, use TranSynd (it's expensive!) and change it one more time at the normal Dextron change interval -- then go to the longer intervals.

Thanks, I believe that's the way I'll go. By the way, how long do the shocks last on these things? This is the only MH I have ever driven and seems like I can feel every bump in the road.

I have used the Las Vegas FL (Oasis) primarily for service but did have an exhaust brake repaired there. They are a good facility although very expensive IMO.

They work on lots of MoHo and have mechanics dedicated to this. They are quick and efficient.

I believe smlranger is in the process of updating his shocks on his Journey -- he is in a better position to answer this one.

A lot of people are going to the Koni's for replacement.

I took my MH to the allison service center to upgrade my trans oil. I received a 100,000 mile warranty upgrade on the spot. Make sure your warranty is upgraded by the FLSC if they change you trans oil. And get a copy of the upgrade warranty.

My rig has 46K miles. I am noticing increasing side-to-side pitching on rough roads so will be putting Koni shocks on it. Others have reported improved ride and handling from the Koni's. I will report as soon as I get mine on.

I will be buying new tires soon and would like to have the shocks replaced as well. Been looking at Koni's and thinking of having them replaced at the same time. I have 235/80R/22.5 XRV tires and thinking about increasing them to 255's??? Has anyone had experience with a brand named KUMHO??

I replaced my 235/80 XRV's with Goodyear G670 275/70/22.5. Ride and handling improved. Have seen Kumho on big trucks but not really familiar with them.

Had the M3 done at Gaffney on Monday. $1224 including a couple of spare filters. Very professional service. Nice people and facility. Plus DW found an outlet center to shop the day away (ouch!)
