Floor registers hot when travelling
2005 Voyage 33V. When we are travelling in hot weather there is hot air, just as if the gas heat was on, coming out of the floor registers. It does not matter whether or not the generator and house airs are on, or not. Anybody experience this, or know why it should be?

Could it be that the heated air, under the unit, is somehow getting into the ductwork. Look for an opening in the ductwork. I bet when you are stopped, no hot air comes out of the registers. Maybe the forward motion of the RV is forcing air into the ducts.

Sounds like you rear auto heater may be on. I don't know if it is a stand alone are feeds into the floor ducts.

Our 2012 Sightseer has a "coach heat" rocker switch that we have accidentally pressed, same result.

Can't see anything open from the bottom. Will make sure the heat switch is in the center, off, position when we roll out of here in two days. Thanks for the replies.

The problem is your Motor Aid heat system is on. "Rocker switch" make sure it is off.

Is there a solenoid in the system?

It sounds like you have the "motoraid" system. Some heat will always come through the floor registers due to the way the system is built. Hot coolant from the engine circulates through a coil surrounding the water heater and a second heater core under the floor of the coach.
There is no switch to shut off the coolant flow, just a switch to select the speed of the fan blowing air across the heater core. In our 2001 Adventurer off was the center position. Low speed was when the lower portion of the switch was closest to the dash, and high speed was when the top portion of the switch was closest to the dash.
Our new Adventurer has a different switch arrangement. On this one off is when the lower portion of the switch is closest to the dash. Low speedi is the center position, and high is when the top portion of the switch was closest to the dash.
In our 2001 motorhome we minimized unwanted heat comming into the passengers compartment by replacing the registers with the style that has louvers to shut off the air flow. The ones we got were exact duplicates of the originals except for the shut off feature. They're standard house registers available from Home Depot, Lowes, Menards or almost any other home improvement store. Just remember to turn them on when you want heated air to come through in the winter months.

Ditto on the louvered vent covers.
We installed one of these on the vent just behind the driver/passenger seat and we haven't had any problems with excessive heat.
We leave this vent closed all of the time. The added heat to the rear coach area keeps the inside very comfortable.
It's nice to have the heat when we leave COLD Pennsylvania in November AND we only need the dash air when we get to Florida.
Great combination.
