Thats for sure. A little goblin took that pic of me, just had to share it. I soak up the sun whenever I am there.
As far as the prices; you should never pay full price for a stay at Disney, too many discounts available. In our case, my daughter works for Disney on property, so we get a respectable discount. If you want to work very little, you can get 50% off! Now there is an incentive.

Funny......as I was reading this tread, I was also watching the Travel Channel with Samantha Brown and they just had on an episode featuring Xmas at Disney and part of the segment featured Fort Wilderness. She visited with a few RV'rs and they showed footage of many of the decerations.

OK, my next question. Where do these people keep all these decorations when they're not at Fort Wilderness. Some of those would fill a 43' Prevost beyond GVWR!!

If only I could get enough time off to take the MH to FW, its a four day trip each way. The Christmas decorations at the resorts are awesome as well.

Disney
I hope Disney gives some of the campers free sites. They draw people from the hotels, they have horse carrage rides through the camp ground.

I spoke with a couple of the long term campers and Disney has stopped giving any discounts to them. At one time they were able to get the daily rate they had at check in for the entire stay, they now have to pay the current days rate as it changes. They are not happy campers.

If it comes up with another resort then there are no sites available for the days you selected.

Just got back from a week at Fort Wilderness. It was as awesome as described. The campsite lights were over the top. Lots of fun. We noticed that there were open spots the whole week. Not as packed this year as previous years. The parks were beautiful. Main Street even had a snow shower each night. I highly recommend it.

Not bad, under $1400 for 5 days in a preferred CS, and full park privileges - now I just have to decide whether to go or not!
For that matter, there may yet be some later discounts that would sweeten the deal - if rising fuel costs don't torpedo it completely...
