Cannot order new RV

We own a 2011 32H and want to replace it. For the past 4 months we have casually researched our options and decided that the 35P will give us what we want. We talked to our sales person a few days ago and he said Winnebago is not taking any new orders for that model at the moment. "Why?" I asked. "They are still trying to figure out their line up and model offerings for 2018". I suspect that has something to do with them dropping the Itasca brand. So now we wait, and wonder why they have not figured this out and if there are other underlying issues. Your thoughts, loyal Winnebago owners.

The might still be figuring out what and how they are gong to use the property they bought in junction City

Yes we are only 3 1/2 months into 2017 , calendar wise , but RV and automotive model years wise , the end is very near. Manufacturers will shut down assembly , most of August to set the assembly lines , and worker holidays then in September the 2018s start rolling out.
Very possible that production of that model is sold out for the rest of the year and Winny hasn't made the decision to continue with the floor plan with cosmetic changes , or a complete revamp.
Keep in touch with the salesman , tell him you're interested in ordering as soon as the 2018 brochures hit his desk.

They may as well drop the Itasca because there is no Chevy chassis.
True Itasca is a Chevy chassis lol.
There some loyalists thinking. Still bumming out that there's no more 8.1 L. lol

That's odd, there are already 2018 Winnebagos on dealer lots.

Occasionally a model can't be ordered for part of the model year. When we wanted to order a Chieftain back in the fall of 2000 we were told that particular model was going through some design changes. We could either wait until the design changes were finished and order at that time or consider a different model. As it turned out the changes took so long to complete they didn't produce any more Chieftains for the 2001 model year. The changes were incorporated into the 2002 model year.

In the fall of 2012 we tried ordering a 2013 Adventurer. Again we were told there was a temporary pause in ordering. As it turned out it was also due to a design change. 2013 Adventurers built before Oct.1 look like the 2012 models. Those built after Oct. 1 look like the 2014 models.

Strange that it has a 2017 sticker on the widshield.

In Mar. 2013 I bought a 2014 Itasca Spirit, which had been built in Jan. 2013.

Chabago another thing to watch out for is Winnebago will jump start the upcoming year and just start calling the current year model the next year model. The true new model usually do not come out until around september along with the new chassis.
If you look at the parts catalog and wiring diagrams there is always two sets of drawings one for the early model and one for the late model.
MY son brought a 2016 Vista XL last year and I told him to make sure it was a late model to get the new slide out system. Salesman did not know what we were talking about.

Good Luck!

2017 have been out for about 6 months now. Other manufactures have started 2018s already. As far as Winnebago, Junction, City is already producing the Grand Tour.
It's makes plenty of sense to start 2018 planning so they can have the first run started by the Fall RV shows and they need the Teasers ready by the Rally.

Your picture is showing the mfg. date of the GM chassis. It was common for the next year CHASSIS to begin when the assembly line resumed production after they returned from the 4th of July holiday and annual re-tooling downtime (if any). SO, the next model year could have started around mid-July for the chassis builders.

2018s are starting to flood the market already. It's common for the manufacturer date to show the year prior to the model year. Yep it's a racquet in every vehicle market but it helps the resale/trade in value. Good luck!

Ha, EXCELLENT point - I hadn't noticed that.
I wonder which year is the correct one.

So in reality I should of got a 1991 service Manuel for the chassis instead of a 1992 service Manuel. It's ok as it all looks the same what I can across so far.
The big question is I have 3500 lb hitch and I want to install 5000 or 7500 lb hitch but I can not find any diagrams how it was made or bolted to the fame.or welded. I need either picture of 27 ft 158 inch wheelbase that has one . Or I will just punt and run couple big angle irons down the frame until I'm hooked to the chassis frame and not the winnebago add on frame. There is a service bulletin somewhere a but it.. I can't find it anywhere. Something about x frame needing to be in place.

I would assume a chassis built in 9/91 would be a 1992 model. Your MH has a 12,300# GVWR (no mention of GCWR), so I don't imagine its rated to tow much.
