Black water waste issue

Several times, our black water waste valve has been pulled out somehow without us, making for a mess when we drain it. Looking for recommendations for the secondary gate valve that “protects” when this happens. We have 2018 Navion 24D.

Thanks.

I know it’s not the same unit, but our Vista has about 3’ of sewer hose from the gate valve to the connection point. There is always a little that comes out when I remove the cover. Are you sure it’s pulled out or just some remnants between the gate valve and the opening?

It may not be fully closed after the previous dump procedure. I have a fresh tank valve that doesn't quite close all the way unless I "coax" it a little with a rubber mallet. I usually notice a drip at the exit port underneath the Navion on my driveway. It's fresh water, so I don't worry about it too much, unlike your situation.

I'm not sure any of the blade valves that were used in the various fluid systems builds were top end stuff.

There are online videos about disassembling these valves to deal with such issues (Google "stuck black water valve") but replacement isn't difficult (videos are also available).

There are also a variety of twist on fittings with valves, both curved and straight. Here's one:

Valterra makes a twist-on valve that might help. We use one on our 29VE which has a leaky black water valve. You can check it out here: https://amzn.to/2KQDl8y
