2015 Winnebago 27N gas millage !!

Hey i just averaged mileage , after putting the first 5600 miles on M H . I got 6.675 miles per gallon , I have towed a Fiat 500 for the last 1200 miles. I just exercise my generator , no off grid camping . Drive 55-60 mph most of the time. Just wondering what others are getting . I was hoping for 8-9 . ( 2015 Winnebago 27 N )

Good luck with anytbingabove 7mpg.

Our Brave 27B never hits 7. Getting 6.2 to 6.5 generally.

Our 2013 27N hovers right at 7 mpg. Mostly traveling at 65 and towing a Ford Focus.

You would think 20 years of technology would bring the MPGs up.

I consistently get 8 mpg 60 mph

When pulling my Jeep it goes down to 7mph

Over 19,000 mi. mine has averaged 6.3 mpg. Using 87 octane ethanol gas. About 1/3 of the miles are out west in the mountains. I put it on 60 mph, always towing either the CRV or Rubicon. In winter storage both the engine and generator get ran for at least an hour every couple of weeks (only when I get trapped in Iowa for the winter and can't make it down south or Southwest). I have the 22K chassis with 19.5" wheels and 5 Star tune.

Well, you can hope for 12 but will get less!
Our '98 Santara 35' tag axle w/460 and Banks would consistently get 6.0 to 6.5. After that we went to DP's and the '02 DSDP w/Cummins ISC 350 and Banks might get 8.0 but I used 7.5 to figure trips.
Our present rig has the ISX 15 L engine and over 45,000 miles shows 7.6 mpg on the VMS as well as the onboard computer.

Will I don't feel as bad, knowing that is standard. I saw some other post a few months ago that was saying 7-8 with a class A gassers .

A WH chassis might get 7 to 8 mpg. That's about what my 22K Workhorse gets with a toad. I usually plan my trips at 7 mpg and hope I get 8.

I must be doing something wrong as I get 8.5 mpg with my Vista 26HE, 15,000 gross wt., no toad, running the generator when needed and 55-60 mph on the road. This was for 4500 miles on last trip.

I drive about 58 - 60 towing a CR-V using the "Tow/Haul" setting. Overall average for a 3,200 trip 6.7 mpg. I will say there was one day I was going with a strong tail wind (the flags were trying to rip themselves off the flagpoles) and averaged 8.2 mpg. Unfortunately I had a head wind a couple of days later.

I just got a new 2015 Vista 27N with a 2015 VIN F53 chassis. I am driving about 60, also pulling a Fiat 500C using Blue Ox towbar and base plate. I am well above 7 mpg driving from Boise ID thru Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks, down to I-80. It has about 3,000 miles on the Odo.

RV owners shouldn't worry about fuel economy, and if it's that big of a deal to be at 6 to 7 mpg when you were hoping for 7.5 to 8, maybe RVing isn't for you.

Fwiw, and I'm beating a dead horse here, they say the diesels get better fuel economy. I don't worry about it much, I fill the tank when it's empty and keep on driving.

C'mon guys, just having some fun.

Our long gone Itasca Suncruiser 32V with the 8.1l got about 7 going downhill with a tailwind.

The reason to monitor fuel economy is to give you an indicator when something is going south.

The reason to ask others is to see if your MH is off the mark from day one.

How else do you know? Ask the dealer? I don't think so.

Our new to us 30T gave us 6.6 MPG on a recent 400 mile trip towing just under 5000 pounds at around 65 mph on interstate with two long pulls up from Wenatchee, WA.
Did one other short trip with about 2600 pounds running about 55-60 and didn't do as good but on county/state roads through towns and not interstate.

Our 2004 30B Sightseer with the 8.1 Workhorse did about 6.9 on out last trip to Arizona-3300 miles towing the same 5000 pounds and running around 60.
As has been stated anything over 6 I get happy but don't worry much about fuel-just want warm weather and relaxation in the sun. All things considered the cost to drive 3500 mi, dry camp and rv park mix camping is a lot less than motels/restaurants over a 3 month period plus we can move around and see more sights than renting a house in one spot.

We just drove 1500 miles in our 24VR Chalet and were not towing anything. We do
have a hitch with two bikes on it and go about 9,2 miles per gallon driving at 55 mph.
I am hoping we can improve upon that number.

I recently traveled from Bishop to SoCal and got 6.9 mpg on my Vista 30T. Averaged about 60 mph while towing a fully loaded two horse trailer.
