2005 36g, AUTOMOTOVE FUSE PANNEL

I'm installing an AMP L START starting battery charger / maintainer, the instructions say to remove the solar panel fuse in the Automotive panel which is in the front of the coach. Do they unscrew or do you just pull on the end of the fuse. I didn't want to break the fuse or its holder.

Thank you
Bob

Bob-

Here's a Winnebago Service Tip sheet that addresses how to install an "Trik-L-Start" in your-era Journey. The "Amp-L-Start" should install in a similar way.

Bob,
Just for your info, neither the Trik-L-Start or, its bigger brother, the Amp-L-Start are "battery chargers or maintainers". All those two units do is, siphon off, some of the amperage/voltage that is intended to go to the house batteries and, send it to the chassis batteries. The Trik-L-Start is max rated to siphon off, 5 amps max. The Amp-L-Start is rated to siphon off a max of 15 amps. I'm not exactly sure why any of the install instructions say to pull the fuse for the solar panel but, obviously there's a reason. I've never heard of those instructions. I installed the Amp-L-Start in my '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD with the C-7 330HP CAT, about 5+ years ago and, don't recall anything about the solar panel fuse.

I guess they do not want any current flowing into the battery while hooking up the unit? I was just being careful. I may call a dealer and ask them about the fuse.

Thank you for taking the time to write me. Happy Trails............Bob
