Winnebago Simplifies Class A Motorized Products as Promised

It is interesting that Winnebago has followed up on promises made by their executive management to simplify their product lineup. They stated at the 2018 GNR that this would improve manufacturing quality. It seems like they still have a ways to go to simplify their Class C lineup, though, as they still have 11 different product names, and have only dropped one (Trend) ...

Class A Diesel:
Forza - 36' to 40' , 4 floor plans , lowest MSRP $ 251 K
Horizon - 41' to 43' , 2 floor plans , lowest MSRP $ 435 K

Grand Tour - Dealer Stock Only
Tour - Dealer Stock Only
Journey - Dealer Stock Only
Class A Gas:
Intent - 27- to 32' , 4 floor plans , lowest MSRP $ 117 K
Vista/Sunstar - 29' to 33' , 4 floor plans , lowest MSRP $ 116 K
Adventurer - 29' to 37' , 5 floor plans , lowest MSRP $ 153 K

Vista LX - Dealer Stock Only
Sunstar LX - Dealer Stock Only
Sightseer - Dealer Stock Only
Sunova - Dealer Stock Only

It's very unfortunate.

I like the Horizon, but I'm not in love with it. Having what I would call a mid-line coach as the only tag axle pusher Winnebago offers now really pushes that market away to Newmar or Tiffin.

Something seems wrong with the MSRP’s between the Intent and Vista. Are they bringing the Intent up already?

This might be a good time to look for a Vista LX....

I expect new Journey, Tour and Grand Tour style coaches to return. Maybe not with those names. They moved all DP coach production (except the Forza) to the Junction City plant this year and the new Horizon model was an instant hit with tons of orders. That was probably a good way to get the plant up to speed, sticking with just one model. But obviously that can’t be sustained. So other models are going to have to come out of that plant.

Maybe Country Coach models??

They’re selling so many B vans it’s a wonder they can make any thing else. Mercedes opened a new US plant to increase Sprinter production and WBGO is a big part of the reason. Well, that and the fact Amazon has ordered 20,000 Spinter Vans. They plan to lease them to individuals that want to start a business delivering Amazon stuff locally.

Looks like the complexities with the move to Junction City were grossly underestimated. From what was said and "not said" at the GNR, production appears dramatically below expectations. Winn has done exceptionally well with the "Bs" - they are made in Lake Mills IA so have no impact on on Forest City production.

What exactly does the annotation "dealer stock only" actually mean.

We just bought a 2018 Sunstar LX and the build quality blew us away.

"Dealer stock only" means the product is no longer manufactured so it can no longer be ordered from the factory and in most cases means that product has been discontinued.

Exactly. No new production. The model is only available from what ever is in "dealer stock only."
