BGE-Big Green Egg

Does anyone travel with a Mini or Mini-Max Big Green Egg? If so, is there a secret to getting it in and out of the storage bays due to the shear weight (a mini is 78 lb's).

How difficult would it be to remove the lid for storage? That should significantly reduce the weight you'd need to lift plus allow you to store it in separate compartments to spread the load.

If it's difficult, I'd bet you could modify the fittings to make it easier.

We have a mini max for camping and love it. We have a travel trailer, so it goes in the back of the truck. My BIL carries his in his Vista with no problem.
