Loud AC.....

So, I have scanned through quite a few posts regarding the Dometic AC unit. I have a non-ducted, roof top one in our Micro Mini 1706 FSB. It is very loud even on the low setting.

I have seen the posts regarding sound deadening and airflow mods in the unit to smooth air flow, however....

It crosses my mind that what I really want is a low setting that moves about half the air flow. Just a gentle breeze of cold air. Are there any kits to do this? Thinking it is an electrical modification to operate fan and condensor system at half speed (or something like that). Also would be nice to have it the entire unit cycle on and off with a thermostat versus just the way it runs now with the fan operating all the time and just the condensor kicking in and out.

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere... would appreciate a link if so.

I dont know about Dometic but PerfectCasitas has a condenser fan speed reduction for Coleman Mach 8 units which are horribly noisy. The circulation fan on Mach 8s are two speed and remain so.

A thought here. RV ACs need CFM in the circulation fan. Units are small capacity and you need to move a lot of air to cool even a small RV on a hot, humid day. If you slow the interior fan on a hot, humid day you risk freezing up the expansion coil as it needs airflow to keep it from freezing up. Same can happen if you set the thermostat too cold. The compressor will run continuously and not allow the coils to warm enough to remove the frost to melt off.
