Heater also kicks on the A/C

I own a 2015 Minnie trailer.
When I try to use the heater, the A/C also goes on.
I have to switch the A/C breaker off to use the heater.

Any idea what I can do?

Thanks,
Dave

If a single thermostat the deadband and mode switches are not working. Replace the thermostat. If two thermostats the air from the heater is blowing on the thermostat or thru the wall from behind. Lots of possibilities.

First verify that your AC is not a heat pump model. Before throwing parts at it though it would be best to call the Winnebago Customer Support line, give them the ID Number of your Trailer and ask them for their advice.

Are you the original owner experiencing a change in the way it operates or is this trailer new to you?

Any chance you have a heat pump? If heat pump, the "AC" will come on and gas heater may or may not come on. "AC" will initially be cold and warm up over several minutes.

The fan has to be set to auto while using the heat so cold air does not blow out of the ceiling vents. I just learned this in my new 2106DS.

Wendyswinnie is correct!! If you have the fan set on high or low, you will get the fan on the A/C coming on as well. Just turn it to auto and you’ll be good.
