Alliance Coach in Wildwood fixed mine. They were expensive and the subcontractor for the ac supposedly caused extensive damage to my slide out hydraulics that I was having worked on at the same time. I wasn't really happy with the settlement of my bill or the time it took to repair and the other cylinder went bad within the year. Maybe my experience was abnormal.

Thank you ~ Idiotasca

Knowing who to stay away from is just as good. I hope to find a straight up AC company to service.

Try finding an A/C shop that specializes in mobile homes. I understand that their units are similar to the basement air. Tell them it's a heat pump.

I don't have a good recommendation on a specific shop but, any shop that works on the units found in hotel/motel units that mounts in the front of the room (think "old Holiday Inns), can do the work. Those units are the same as found in your basement. Also a lot of these self contained units can be found in nursing homes -- check there to see who does their repair work.

If you're still having issues, open the service panel to the rear of the basement A/C unit. Check for burnt or damaged wires around start capacitors. Usually obvious if this is the issue, you can see it and smell it. Lots of quick fixes and money saved this way. Good luck. I live near Alliance Coach, never heard anything good about that place.

Not sure if this will help, but my unit is a Coleman, and on their web page I found links to basement air, then links to repair shops that are suppose to be trained in the repair. For me, just a few conversations resolved my problem.
Good Luck

PS: supposedly the hardest part is pulling the unit to get access to work on it.
Search on this and other sites, I have seen full instructions on how to do it all yourself.

Any good HVAC shop can take care of you. Your unit is considered a 'residential' style unit. Check Yelp in your area under HVAC repair.

Don't forget to short out your capacitor terminals with a screwdriver with an insulated handle before touching them. They can store lethal voltages.

Basement Air

In the compartment where the starter capacitors are there should be a reset switch, try resetting that switch. I would check your filters inside and the outside coils are cleaned and restart the air conditioning unit. My unit is a 2000 Adventure and had this switch. Good luck

Thank you every one!

I took it to Ed at Affordable RV in Dunellon FL.

He told me he wouldn't drop the unit & believed it might be a "closed system"(?)

Anyway he had it going better than before in just a couple of days. Yes he said corrosion & bad wiring behind the control panel & cleaned out dirty ducting & wasp nests. All that of which I could of done if I could spare the time.....

I would highly recommend him & it's a family business.

Affordable RV repair and service

Thanks so much for all your pointers & suggestions spot on!

Now on to that rattle when I start the Onan 5000.....

Low~

Looking for basement air service for 2008 39Z

I don't have problems with system, but with a 2008 Journey, want the system cleaned/serviced. I have contacted several reputable heat/air dealers in my Charleston SC area without success. I'll travel within a reasonable distance. Appreciate any recommendations.

Did you make it clear that your A/C is "residential" and not RV?
