Basement A/C on 1993 Winnie Elante'

I have a '93 Winnie Elante' with basement A/C from Coleman model 6795-822. Unit seems to have stopped kicking in the #2 compressor. This happened on a hot day here in southern Missouri. Checking various videos on YouTube it appears that Winnebago or Coleman did no favors for the MH owner for ease of DIY maintenance. How difficult is it to have added a pair of drawer glides to the unit to slide out and work on it without removing from the vehicle? Onan and I am sure other generator mfgrs offer them to make DIY servicing a snap. Having the glides would make it an easy proposition for annual cleaning of coils, blower motor lube, wasp nest removal, etc. Has anyone done this?
Further if my unit is shot I am considering replacing it with a heatpump with heater version.
