97 Vectra Grand Tour Dash AC wiring from compressor

I have a 97 Vectra Grand Tour and the dash AC has not worked since we bought it a few years ago. I know I need a compressor, but I am trying to trace the wiring. A single wire runs from the compressor along the frame inside a large wire loom. It ends at a 6-wire flat connector next to the genset. That connector has a weather-proof cover on it and it goes nowhere. I can't figure out how power gets to the compressor. Is than connector supposed to connect to something or is that cap supposed to be a jumper cap and pass 12v to the wire from another wire in the connector?

Likely comes from a relay. But forget that wiring and bypass it with new. Get an automotive relay and some wire, splice it into the existing wiring where you loose a follow on connection. Add your own connector and route it up to the A/C switch on the dash. Another wire would feed the relay with 12V power via heavy gauge wire. The switch operates the relay, the relay applies strong battery voltage to the compressor.

Bypassing an electrical problem with new circuit is pretty standard operating procedure. Saves time and money.
