Winterizing feature

I have a 2002 Journey DL that has a feature that I don’t understand how to use. Can anyone out there explain its use?
In the toilet room there is a (Automatic Winterizing System ) with two buttons,
One is Bypass and one is Winterize.
Any information on this system and how to use it would be of help.
Thanks

It probably runs the water pump to circulate winterizing fluid from a bottle rather than pulling from the water tank. I would call a local Winn dealer or even the factory and have them verify how it works. There should have been plenty of paperwork when you purchased the rig unless the previous owner tossed it all.

Thank you so much for your reply. I did not receive the owners manual with the coach. I have been able to figure out most every thing else and was able to find out a lot on winnieowners site.
Thanks again

It sounds like the winterizing system that was on our 1998 Vetra Grand Tour. The bypass switch controls the solenoid to by pass the water heater, so it doesn't fill with antifreeze. When you hit the switch, you should hear the solenoid valve at the water heater click when it closes. The winterizing switch allows the pump to pick up antifreeze from a bucket and it bypasses the tank. It is a system that makes it very easy to winterize. When you are done putting in the antifreeze, you will turn both switches off. Be sure to drain the water heater of water when the bypass switch is used.
