I tried to use my water tank fill today. I flipped the switch to fill, heard something move behind the panel but no water went into the tank. Any ideas??

Hi Ya: not all that adept at this but here is a suggestion. right where the hose connects to th mh there should be some type of check valve that will prevent water from flowing back out. this valve may be stuck or some other foreign object may be blocking the inlet there. also on my rig there is a lever you have to switch over to water tank fill for the water to go into the tank. i have forgotten to open this lever at times. good luck

I have water going to the system, just nothing going into the tank when I flip the lever. Yesterday the hose froze so I wanted the tank full just in case that happened again

Is it posible that water has frozen inside the water connection? I had that happen to me in another MH. I had to use a hair dryer to melt the ice trapped behind the plug. Good luck.

I am not trying to be sarcastic in my reply so please don't take this the wrong way but, why not fill the tank at the tank fill? Easy, quick and it will work?

Probably a bad valve. If you take it apart, you’ll see what goes wrong with them. The handle just pops off and the bushing screws onto the valve. Buy a new valve and just replace the guts.

There is no outside tank fill on the 2005 Voyage. I wish there were sometimes. It would make it easier to add things like bleach, etc, etc.

Our 2005 Voyage has an outside tank fill on the passenger side and another fill on the drivers side that will fill the tank by turning a valve.

Sorry finhawk, as Johnny Carson would say "I did not know that" your model does not have an outside fill. I learn something new everyday on this forum. Good luck.

You're right JC2, our '05 Sunrise which I believe is pretty much the same as the Voyage has a fill ( I think it's actually supposed to be an overflow outlet and vent for filling ) on the passenger side that you can drop a hose with a reducer into and the city water hookup/tank fill on the driver side. I usually just use the passenger side as it's easier to use and I think it actually fills a little faster too!

Hi Finhawk,

I got curious and decided to look at the Voyage plumbing files and did not find any that showed the fresh water tank. So I thought I would look at the parts files and low and behold, none of the Voyage models have a fresh water gravity fill port. The pertinent pages for the models of Voyage is:

F38J - Page 228
F35L - Page 228
F35A - Page 229
F33V - Page 225
F32H - Page 230

I'll vote with Mr. Transistor's "replace the valve" advice.

If you had the hose hooked up when it froze and didn't leave a trickle of water flowing through, it could have cracked some portion of the valve inside where you can't see it.

I've learned the hard way to disconnect the hose during a hard freeze or if "soft" freeze, leave a trickle of water flowing or I'll not only have the possibility of a split hose but cracked valves or pipes near where the hose connects.

thanks for the advice guys. I had checked the plumbing diagrams so was aware of the no show on an outside fill.
As for the freeze problem, I'm snowbirding in Las Vegas so that is not a consideration.
