All of a sudden the drain lever on my 2005, Itasca Horizon has frozen and I am afraid to pull it too hard for fear of breaking it. Always worked in the past, any ideas?

First question: Are you pushing-pulling as per arrow label?

Have you tried a penetrant spray (WD-40/Break Loose) on the drain lever shaft...then try to rotate after 10-15 min?

Don,
Which drain are you talking about? Black water, gray water, or fresh water?

Being half brain dead explains a lot of problems, I am having trouble with the fresh water drain. The shaft appears to be fully coated so don't think a shot of lube will help and it appears to disappear into a closed system.

Since the lower end of the shaft does disappear down someplace, I've wondered that myself, what happens if the lower end freezes up or breaks off. Will be watching for any responses from anyone who has done any kind of repair on this control

Not sure how the Horizon is set up but if it is similar to the Journey, the valve that actually dumps the fresh water tank is at one end of the tank behind a removable access panel. If you have a push/pull cable operated drain valve, the cable ends at that valve. Find your fresh water tank (likely under the rig between the frame rails), and remove the access panel to expose the valve. The valve on mine is a smaller version of the same type of knife valve used on the gray/black water tanks. Spray everything with silicone or Super Lube and see if that helps.
