Hi folks
Has any body uprated from the 45psi shurflo to the smart sensor 5-7 pump (max65psi) will the pipes take it and is it reliable

Yes, I have on 2 motorhomes. No problems from the pressure. I am not sure the 5.7 Shurflo is the best pump out there. Some say yes, some say no. I haven't had any but so I can't compare.

Just a short question. why do you need 65 psi?

I did it when my pump burned up on the trip out here to CA.
Was a good upgrade, much more pressure, quieter, and more flow. If I would have known how much better it was, I would have done it a long time ago and not waited for my old pump to go. The new one was a bit larger, but I had plenty of room.
I did at first forgoe the new strainer, and ended up having to run back to the dealer to find one since when disassembling mine I cracked it. The new style strainer is also larger and uses the same quick fittings as the 5.7 pump, my only complaint was that it is another $25.00!
Other than that install was easy, and I am very happy with the new pump.
Winnie tests all the pumping to 125lbs at the factory, so 65 should be no problem.

Changed to the 5.7 about 3yrs ago no problems so far and realy like the performance of this pump.

I have had the 5.7 on 2 coaches the last 5 years. I am very happy with it. The pressure is not a problem for the plumbing and it is quiet.

I've had the 5.7 in two coaches and like them a lot. Never had a failure. I do recommend use an external sediment filter because I think the cleaner water prolongs the life of the pump.
I believe the current draw is greater on the 5.7 Shurflo. You may need to beef up the wire size so you don't have too much voltage drop when the pump is pulling max amps. I would try it out and measure the +12 v right at the pump to see if it's getting adequate voltage.

My 2004 came standard with the 5.7 Shurfol. The first one worked for 2 years then started running all the time. The second one worked for about a year before it started surging just like the cheaper pumps. The third one now seems to be working all right but I'm having problems with it leaking around the end cap about every 6-8 months and have to keep re-tightening the 4 screws on the cap. Am going to contact Shurflo to see why it keeps leaking. Do like the even flow it provides though.

I have an '01 and had a big leak. AFChap suggested I check the pump and when I did I found a leak in the same place you have yours. I tightened the screws and that helped just a little.
Called Shurflo and they had me replace the diaphragm and the valve kit and so far no leaks.
