The Intellitec Water Pump Latching Controller is the simplest method of turning the water pump on or off from any location. They make two different ones, 7 amp & 10 amp, depending on the size and amps that the water pump motor draws.

Actually, you wouldn't need to replace the switches either other than for convenience purposes. The SPST switch would work also. It just requires you hit the switch again each time you want the pump to either turn on or to turn off. The Latching Controller does all the work.

Example, switch off - pump off. Turn switch on - pump is on. Now to turn pump off, you have to turn switch off AND then back on again to activate the Latching Controller to actually turn the pump off. Then to turn the pump back ON again, you have to turn switch back off and back on once again. Basically, what you are doing to the Latching Controller each time you turn the switch on is changing whether it is "latched or NOT latched".

If the Latching Controller is installed correctly, close to the water pump, it is the easiest and most efficient method of turning the pump on or off.

Installed gecko ornament picked up at ACE hardware to decororate the button.

A wireless doorbell system might even be made to work.

I always run off the water tank, except for showers and dishes. Never leave pump on when away and at night.

PS: Our pump is OEM.
Hi DancinCampers,

I'm trying to decide the direction I take for wiring a switch in the bath. I came across your post and like the idea. I understand 12v relay switches somewhat but am wondering how you wired the switch "in parallel" to the relay. Would you be so kind as to draw a quick diagram for how you wired this. This is really a smart solution. Thanks, wurdz
