When I do a repair/mod such as this and use foam, I look for a nice size plastic bag-or bags- at least 2 mil thick. With the bag (s) laid out in the area I'm trying to reinforce, then I fill it with foam. This allows removal of the foam in the future if needed. I also cut in a floor grate (register) in the toe kick area to allow for ventilation. HTH Gary

Thanks for all the replies Guys, looks like I have several paths to take for some reinforcing, if really necessary after 7 years of use. But so many of the things manufacturers do aren't meant to last very long, planned obsolescence or destruction, so just trying to plan for the inevitable. Kind of like the glued-on engine compartment doors which surely they knew couldn't hold very long with all the road vibrations. Six months ago I couldn't even spell ingineer and now I air one.
After taking a real close look under the shower through the little vent it does look like Winny fiberglassed a 3/4" board to part of the bottom of the shower pan avoiding the drain pipe but nothing supports that so don't know what they could have gained by doing it.
