Pumping water out the fresh water in connection

Hello all, I have a 2014 31KE and when I run the water pump it pumps water out the city water/tank fill connection, even in the the normal position. Is there a check valve at that connection?

Typically there is one. Sometimes a separate one from the connection and built in to the connection.

Some also have a built in pressure regulator. That is found on boats more than rv's.

Do you have water going into your tank when the valve is in the normal position and city water is on? If so, you’re valve could be bad.

No the valve works correctly when connected to shore water, normal feeds the coach and fill goes to the fresh water tank. But when not connected to shore water and when you turn on the pump it runs out of the shore/fill connection and of course never gets up to pressure and stop.

Mike's correct - it is the water inlet check valve that has failed. In an emergency, you can use one of those solid nylon plugs in the hose fitting to do the same thing.

With the plug installed all works well, definitely is the check valve.

Just replaced my valve a couple weeks ago. Ordered it online. Easy install.

Good luck!

I could not fill my tanks in any position of the "Normal/Tank Fill" valve. A friend took the phillips screw out of the center of the handle. Plastic handle was broken inside. Ace hardware for a universal/metal, screw tightened handle. Problem solved!
