No Hot Water pressure

Up to around lunch when the wife started to wash some dishes, we had great Hot Water pressure. Then WHAM...No Pressure

2004 Journey
Atwood 10 gal water. The back flow valve has been removed.
All faucet screens are clean.
Out side shower facets are closed.
All valves are in the Normal position, nothing has be moved.

When I hook a hose to the bathroom facet and connect to the city water, I get a good flow out of the drain in the water heater.

Any ideas

ON EDIT....I have read some posts that state that there is a check valve in the hot water line. I have looked at mine and see no valve in the line leaving the hot water outlet.

I am banging my head on this one.

If you gently pull on the pressure relief valve on the hot water heater itself do you get a flow of water from there ? I suggest you turn off the hot water heater for a couple of hours before you check out the flow ...

If you don't get a flow from the pressure valve then the problem is UPSTREAM of the hot water heater ... probably a check valve gone bad ...

Plenty of water pressure from the pressure relief valve.

I think this will help you determine whether or not the problem is a check valve.

Turn the bypass valve to bypass (mine is in the power / fresh water bay)

If water now flows from all of your hot water faucets (it will be cold) then the problem will be a check valve.

skigramp...I did as you suggest and water does flow from the hot water faucets.

Now I need to find that check valve. I know that it is not in the rear of the water heater. I can see a foot or more of hot water line before it goes out out of site......Thanks.

On my rig the hot water heater is inside a metal case ... there is a small door (held in place by screws) on the bottom at the rear of the hot water heater ... if you open that door you should be able to see the check valve on the back of the heater case.

I think yours is probably the same ...

Same here. There is a check valve in the cold water inlet. I have removed the inwards, so it is a pass thru. I do not see a check valve in the foot or so of hot water line in the cabinet.

After waiting for that Great "fix it" reply to my post and not getting it.
I called Winnebago this morning. John, the rep insisted the hot and cold check valves were in the water heater cabinet. I finally convinced him it was not. He then took my MFG#, looked up some diagrams, and told me to pull the panel off the city water entrance. There it was...Red tape around it to indicate it was the Hot water check valve. It was a pain to get to. Several bruises later I got it out. The clip holding the spring against the plunger had come off. I gutted it and after a few more bruises I got it reinstalled. Plenty of pressure now.
