A macerator pump requires a pretty good amperage draw, it should have it's own circuit, not piggy-backed on an existing circuit.

Are you planning on dumping through a smaller hose or a long distance? They do occasionally fail or clog and it's a messy job cleaning or repairing. I use a Sewer Solution to dump at home, Our water pressure does a great job of breaking down solids and flushing them out a small hose, up over a window sill to a basement sewer outlet.

macerator pump

I will use it mostly for 20' or shorter runs. Thought about running it to the battery with fusible link.

I have a different RV but I ran 10 gauge wire directly to my batteries and put a 25 amp breaker inline.

pump

I have had one on all my motorhomes for 41 years. Only failure I have had is hair clogged the impeller. In 41 years I do not even carry a sewer hose anymore. I have the same garden hose for 25 years. I have pumped it for over 150 feet several times when I did not get a sewer site. Make sure you use a heavy wire to the battery and a good switch.

There are several possibilities, depending on your coach configuration.

One choice is directly to the batteries, but other possibilities are the inverter/charger, hydraulic pump, or other source that has a larger wire connecting it to the batteries.

On my previous coach (Winnebago) I connected to the HWH pump that was in the next bay. On my Phaeton, I originally connected to the battery, but later had a better use for the wire, so I connected to the inverter which was actually more convenient than the battery.

Take the time to run it to the battery and install a 30amp fuse. As far as the switch you don't need one if you get the Sani-Con Box mount system.
I installed one in my MH and it works great. Personally they should have put the second one in since they already had the first one installed for the forward black tank.

pumps

Ebay for $46.00 or you can get a kit for $350.00. I went with just the pump and attached a hose from Home Depot and then an old garden hose for under $55 and a little wire I had already. No reason to remove. My hose is pliable in cold weather and does not get holes in it from the rocks.

Installed seaflo pump today. Ran it straight to battery with a toggle switch. Ran a inline 20 amp fuse.
Hose should be here tomorrow. Can't wait to get rid of stinky slinky.

Keep the stinky slinky as a backup, if your pump fails you be up s... creek without a hose.
