How do you change filter - ADC Everpure

Hello I have a ADC everpure water filter under the kitchen sink. It is a long round aluminum canister. I can not figure out how to change the filter inside it. I have tried to twist the canister off but it does not budge. I have attached a picture of the filter so that maybe someone will be able to give me information.

thanks in advance.
