Cleaning hairspray on the mirror/wallpaper

Hi all,

Just a common cleaning problem. How in the world do you easily get dried hairspray off the mirror and the wall paper in the bathroom?

I've tried everything but gasoline and lighting it.

Much appreciated.

I don't have a clue but I'm going to show this to my wife because I make her spray her hair outside. She keep stopping up the Fantastic fan filter.

Rub your hand over the toilet lid. Ruff due to spray. Someone says it's nothing but Lacquer
Thanks

I might try just a tad of paint thinner on the mirror. WD40 maybe??

You can use lacquer thinner on the mirror, but not on the wallpaper! Lacquer thinner is a powerful solvent.

I suggest Goof-Off, Spot Remover and Degreaser, sold in Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, etc.

Normally, hairspray is water soluable. Maybe the DW prefers the superior holding power of acrylic polymers?

Best solution is ban the use of hairspray to the outside, well away from the campfire. Turn off all gas appliances like the propane fridge and water heater, or furnace.

I am so glad I just use a number 3 blade on my hair.. wash and wear

I spray my hair where the excess spray hits the bed. When the quilts are laundered it all comes out. When hair spray hits painted or other surfaces it's not so easy to remove. It gets like glue.

Try a cheap generic shampoo. It is designed to cut hair spray and oils.

Hairspray (especially Aqua Net) only has one useful function as far as I'm concerned...

Fire when ready!

Note:

Use outside for ..."best results"

I use Windex in our S&B. Gets the overspray off the mirrors and the countertop - no problem. We don't have wallpaper, so I can't comment on that, but Windex is a fairly mild cleaner.

Have you tried rubbing alcohol? I use that on my house glass shower doors and it takes it right off.

I just put a drop or two of dish soap on a wash cloth wet it an gently scrub. It takes it off and leaves no residue; It has worked for us for 50 years... (one can not dispute success)
