Cant fill Water Tank

Sorry this may have been asked and answered but I could not locate a thread.

2008 Winnebago Journey 39Z.

First time I am trying to use the water. Just learning how to use motorhome. Attached my hose to the water intake line and started the water. Water seem to flow ok, but then immediately water came out of the overflow pipe under the coach and just drained the water. Our faucets inside did work, but not a strong flow. The Fresh Water Valve was turned to Tank Fill vs Normal The Winterization Valve 2 is set to Normal vs Winterize.

I have attached pictures of the overflow and the valve settings.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if yours is the same, but that looks like the fresh water drain. Mine has a pull handle at top of bay that I pull to drain tank. If yours is the same, the handle may be pulled out.

Oh yeah, the handle is not in the wet bay. On mine it is opposite side of coach, second bay back.

Thank you both. Found the shut off valve and it was on the opposite side and yes it was open too. Had no idea it would be over there. I have a lot to learn. Of course it is pretty easy when all works correctly.

THANKS AGAIN!!

Also I’ve been told that both valves should be set to normal unless you are filling the tank. As a newbie I also discovered that while hooked to a site the tank will use what’s in the tank although you are hooked up, so prior to leaving I have to switch it to fill to ensure I have fresh water on board.

Only slightly related, have been having a problem with water loss through gravity tank fill. While driving with full tank water will slosh out the fill door and would loose about 1/4 of my water supply.
I wound up installing a check valve in the fill hose between the tank and outside fill door. No more water loss!!
