Smile Black Tank Flush

I find it hard to believe that I'm the only one that has had problems with the flush system. Out of 50+ views, not even one reply. Maybe I am just the one lucky guy out all the Winnibago product owners. Darn!

Hey Finhawk
I haven't had a problem with my black tank flush system flushing. It flushes just like it did when I picked it up from the factory. I believe by design it's just not always adequate
I have had an ongoing problem with my black tank monitoring system showing an incorrect level for most of the time. From past post you can see I have tried many things to correct the problem and some quite intense.
I do believe I have mastered my problem. My level readings have been spot on for a few months now.
I can help you if your getting incorrect readings.
Jesse

There were replies and I would check the breaker valve on page six of the diagram that was in one of those replies. It's a common issue that might be yours.

I've learned to live with this issue. The green, yellow, red on the Tecma pushbutton panel seems very accurate.
The only time my one place panel reads properly is when I flush with hot soapy water repeatedly. Sometimes I do it 3 times just to get it to read empty when empty. Usually only lasts through 1-2 fill ups.
Jesse, did you pay someone to clean your tank? Did they go up from the bottom or in through the existing sprayer? Curious if there's a dyi fix.

After many attempts thinking I may have corrected my problem it once again give me a false reading.
I hired a company to sanitize my black and grey tanks. The crud he pulled out of my tanks after I thought they were clean was unbelievable especially the grey tank.
Very simple operation. Presure washer, small hose, jetting tip, modified straight 12" connector.
After the tanks had been dumped he simply hooked the clear connector with a 2" hole cut into it then opened the grey valve and inserted the jetting tip, turned the presure washer on and the jet tip pulled the hose into the tank. Each time he would pull the hose back the tank crud would flush. He did it until it flushed clean. Then did the same with the black tank.
I was so impressed with his method I ordered the same hose and tips he used and an adapter that would connect the hose into my presure washer wand. Click image for larger version

We extend the jacks a bit on the right hand side so the tank is on an angle, drains much better! Simple and free!

You should consider using Happy Campers additive to the black tank on every use and occasionally on the grey tank. This will eliminate any bold up on the tanks and also reduce any odors you may have emanating from the tanks. After reading this forum a few years ago I have used it religiously and have had no issues with build up. After my first use in each tank and it sloshing around during a trip it was amazing what came out.

Good luck.

Tank Flush

The problem was after 18 months(winters) in Las Vegas. the calieche in the water caught up with me. There as a chunk near the check valve that stopped the water flow and the tank flush tube was halfway clogged. I had no screen in the hose fittings----but do now. Hopefully that will prevent future problems
