Adventurer 04 Water Heater noise

I just recently noticed that when my water heater turns on (even with electricity) it sounds like a gas flame when listening outside the coach? Is there something wrong?

What you describe sounds like you have an obstruction in the propane supply or the fire tube. Look for spider webs or like stuff in the fire tube or, rust build up in the gas supply tube.
Blow out the fire tube with air. Remove the aluminum gas supply tube and clean the orifice using a toothpick to other soft pick. Blow out with compressed air and reassemble.

Sounds like normal operation to me. My 05 Adventurer does the same noise when the water heater kicks on. Does the noise stop after the water heats up? Does the Water heater "FAULT" light stay off? Do you have the Water heater switch to ON when you turn on the Electric Water heater switch? As long as you have the propane on and the Water heater switch to ON, you'll have the flame noise as long as the water is being heated.

My coach has a switch for both the electric and LP. I sometimes turn both of them on when I want to heat the water quickly.

I have the propane supply turned off. The heater seems to be functioning correctly I just didn't expect the flame sounding noise from the electric operation?

Where have you turned off the propane supply. At the Tank or at the heater inlet? or Just at the control switch?

What you could be hearing is the sound of the electric coil heating the water.
