Surround Sound

I have a surround sound sys in the camper, during the walk thru the delivery guy said that it only works when using the DVD player. Does that sound correct? Anybody? Thanks

It sure doesn't work that way in my Winnie. Mine will work with TV, DVR, DVD, and music media. I need to change the input the surround sound receiver to tell it what I want to play but it works with everything.

"Salesman" is the key word in your post. I have found that they sometimes don't know as much about how everything works as they should.

Good luck.

My surround sound system works with both the radio and TV. I have a switch that selects between them.

On our coach, with Samsung BluRay player (which is also the surrond sound system), the audio output from the main tv is the AUX input to the player. When not playing a DVD, put the player input to AUX, and anything the TV is playing will run thru the surround sound. (This includes tv secondary HDMI and USB inputs)

Make sure the tv speaker is turned off in setup.

Can you provide the model numbers to your equipment? It would be easy to pull up a schematic of the system then and see what options you may have.

If the 2013 is still using the old DVD entertainment center and the television is one of the newer ones, there may not be an audio connection. I changed out my television and I had to purchase an digital to audio converter for watching surround from the televisions. There are options, but not knowing the equipment it is hard to give a complete answer.

My surround sound system, OEM with the coach, only provides sound from the build-in DVD and AM/FM receiver.
