Radio doesn't work on "engine", only house??
No power to the radio when switched to engine power, only on house power. Anybody experience this? Thinking it might be a bad switch or possibly a fuse. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Since there are a gazillion different types of RV's out there I'd suggest you add the year, make & model of the RV. It might be easier to get a good response.

I have the 2002 Suncruiser 35U and had the same problem, although there were a few other items on the same circuit that also did not work. Check for a blown 15A fuse under the lift up dash. In the Workhorse manual it is called "ACC - RADIO". I am assuming that you have the Workhorse chassis. The same circuit (fuse) also controlled the power drivers window, large defrost fans, power mirrors, and the leveling jacks. Once I found and replaced the fuse, all worked fine. Hope that this helps.

Our radio is wired to the house batteries, not through the ignition switch. Makes it nice to play the radio without leaving the ignition on.

Would have thought that was good design so as to leave the engine battery out of the system.
Not sure from your post if this is a new problem for you, or just something you hadn't noticed before.

On this particular design when the "engine" option is selected the radio will only work when the key is in the "on" or "accessory" positions. It uses the engine battery and is most commomly used when the vehicle is driving down the road. This is the way every radio in every automobile (I am aware of) is wired.
The "house" option runs the radio off the house batteries and is most generally used when the motorhome is parked. This option allows the users to listen to the radio without running down the starting battery.
Alon with the other suggestions I would sheck the wiring at the rear of the selector switch. We had a similar problem a few years ago and found the wire from the chassis battery had become disconnected from the switch.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Just to ask the obvious, but sometimes overlooked, question.... is the engine battery cut off switch turned on?
As for listing details about your coach, they probably are available in your profile but then other members have to go look it up. You probably want to add it to your signature line which you can do by going to your "User CP"... which stands for control panel.
Best of luck.

Re "Shows up in your profile" Many don't go to the trouble of looking at your profile.
Odds are you have a blown fuse on the Chassis fuse block.. After that it gets,,, shall we say... interesting.

Not sure how your dash looks but, many of us have a dual system for powering up either the radio or the front TV. There's actually two switches there. One has Engine/House and the other is labled: TV / Radio.
So, yes, we can listen to the radio or watch TV without having any ignition or chassis battery on. The OP is having a problem powering up the radio when the switch for "Engine/House" is switched to engine.
