Ayone know where the receptacle is that the interter powers on a 35 U (mine's a 2001 Itasca Sunflyer but I think it is a common place). I thought it was the receptacle behind the VCR but doesn't seem to be since the VCR doesn't power up when shore power off and inverter is on. The TV does power on through the inverter so there must be a plug somewhere else.

I want to plug my laptop in there is the reason I'm asking.

Many thanks in advance, Steve

On my 2000 35U, there were two receptacles: one above the co-pilot's seat behind the inverter, which my VCR was plugged into. And one above the Driver's side overhead compartment where my SAT TV receiver was. So all TV equip (& CD player) & functions operate with the inverter. Also the Bedroom TV is inverter powered. Same lashup in my current rig.

I also ran a 110v regular extension cord from the outlet above the driver's side, so I can operate my laptop on AC (for GPS map navigation) while driving w/inverter On.

Thanks Thudman! Had never seen the driver side plug and did not know that the rear TV was inverted.

BUT: neither of the plugs in the overhead compartments work on inverted. Both TV's work on inverted. The 2 compartment plugs work on shore power but not inverted. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks! Steve

Steve: I know two things about electricity: On & Off. Call Winnie Tech Spt 800-537-1885. Sounds like a deviation from wiring standards to me.

On our 2001 Adventurer there is an outlet in the right side front upper cabinet (behind the VCR)that is run by the inverter. Both the television and the VCR plug into this outlet.

There is a red LED on the front of the inverter that glows when the inverter is powered up. There is also a fuse on the front of the inverter.

The rear TV in our coach runs on 12V. It doesn't connect to the inverter.

OK folks. Here's what Winnie says (and the chap seemed knowledgable): The plugs in each compartment are not wired into the inverter...they are shore power only. The TV and VCR are plugged into a receptacle on the back of the inverter.

Now, this conflicts with several of you and I have no reason to doubt what you say. It also does not explain how the rear TV gets it's inverted power.

Guess I'll download the schematic and see if I can make sense out of it...probably not. Or, call another time and see if I get another tech and answer Thanks, Steve

My 1994 Vectra had the TV plugged into the rear of the invertor.

On my '05 the invertor is wired to outlets.

Also, I have an original 140w (removed from my Vectra) and and an original 300w (bought to install in my Vectra but never installed) invertor's, the brand and model same as used by Winnebago for sale.

The rear TV is wired to my 300w invertor in my '05 Suncruiser.

I believe you will find a duplex receptacle on the rear of thr inverter. That's where all I have seen are.

Ok...to close this out for the record so when someone else has this question. I found the duplex receptacle on the rear of the inverter. I left the TV plugged in there and plugged in a computer type power strip. I've plugged the VCR/DVD into the power strip and will use it for the laptop (not both at the same time). So the best of both worlds: 120v when on shore power and 120V when underway!

Thanks all for the help. Steve
