CB Radio Wiring

I've always been under the impression my 2007 Winnebago Journey came hard wired for a CB radio. I've looked under the dash for the wires, which I understand are wrapped in plastic.

Can anyone provide me with some additional guidance?

Thanks!

I suggest you search this site for your speciffic answer. However, the CB wiring is usually found on the sidewall by the driver or stuffed under the dash. It has been that way on the last two MHs from Winnie.

Winnie hides it very well. BTW: at least in '08, that wiring will only be the electrical not the antenna coax. If you have an (usually rusting) antenna on the drivers side roof, there may be coax. Good luck on that search.

I found my CB antenna wire under the "footrest" on the left side of the drivers compartment ... they were wrapped in plastic.

The footrest is held in place by a couple of screws hidden in the carpet

I found my power wires up behind the steering column. I also found the wire group a trailer brake. I had no coax nor antenna. I picked up a short magnetic mount CB antenna and it sets on top of a metal brace on top of the cabinet above the driver. 99.99 % of the time I only listen. I also have a 2 meter rubber duck for my ham radio and a XM satellite antenna up there. That way I have no extra holes in the roof.

Send a message via ICQ to W8RLM
Mine were also behind the driver's foot rest - both the power leads and the coax.

I appreciate all the information. Sounds like I'll be removing the foot rest on the driver's side.

Thanks!
