Bedroom radio turns on by itself...

I have noticed that my bedroom radio will turn on by itself while the coach is sitting in storage. I don't know what causes it but sometimes I walk in and hear it playing and no one else has been around. Has anyone else experienced this and what did you do about it?

It happened to me just days after I figured out how to get power to it. I was working in the Moho late at night when it happened. Needless to say it scared the daylights out if me. I changed my shorts that is all I did....problem fixed.

I've not heard of it in the bedroom, but the one in the basement of my previous coach did it. I installed an additional off/on switch near the radio.

My guess would be that there is a remote nearby that activates it. It happens to my TV at home on occasion. When I leave, I unplug the TV. It's a pain, but I'm not techno-savy enough to change the frequency.

I had a bedroom radio in my Adventurer that I removed because I hated the on/off button that seemed to get activated at 2:00 a.m. by an inadvertent bump. The designers obviously had never slept in a motor home before. It is now a nifty little cubby hole that holds the remote, eat plugs, etc, etc. It required cutting a little board for the bottom to cover up the holes.

If you really love the radio, it's easy to remove and you could easily wire in a toggle switch in-line to prevent it's getting turned on unintentionally.

After figuring out how to set the clock {actually had to read the directions , I accidentally set the alarm as well so we had the radio coming "by itself". Ours radio has a remote; it's also the DVD player for the bedroom TV and auxiliary speakers for the TV but, I haven't gotten smart enough to use them .

Good luck and keep us posed

My Visio TV remote will cause my bedroom radio to come on.

Fun when I want to turn on the TV.

Our unit was doin the same thing. Couldn't figure it out for a few days. Blamed DW and the kids. Turns out there is an alarm function in the unit. Problem solved.

Thanks everyone...I will try the alarm function tomorrow. That makes a whole lot of sense.
