Michelin vs Toyo on 22.5 workhorse

I hear a lot of pros and cons on these tires. Would like to really know before I go out and purchase the 235x 80 x22.5

I went to Toyo from Michelin 6 months ago and I'm happy with the ride and handling.

And I expect them to live longer!

Made the switch to Toyo's 3 plus years ago and am still satisfied. My Michelin's started cracking in under 2 years, the Toyo's still look new.

Why do some claim bad handling?

I went to the Toyo's earlier this year. I'm more that satisfied as they ride better and have increased grip on wet roads. No more overpriced Michelins for me.

Michelin vs Toyo

I saw it on some of the other websites. Where did people buy their Toyos and what price did they pay? My local Allen Tire dealer wont install them because the size doesnt match the placard.

There is almost NO difference between the two sizes mentioned in this thread. Their lawyers must be really strict.

You will want to find an installer that has the ability to spin balance a 22.5" tire- not all can do so. Otherwise, you'll need powder or balancing beads.

I bought mine at Les Schwab in Oregon. Mine are a larger size so the price would be different.

Bought mine from Les Schwab in my home town. New stems, powder and mounted all 6 for just under $2300.

Toyo tires

I purchased Toyo tires for my 05 Itasca Horizon and absolutely loved them.
I have recently read that Toyo has a casing life of aprox 10 years compared to Michelin with aprox 5 to 6 years. I am currently changing my current coach to Toyo Tires as they seem more stable and have a stronger sidewall

My opinion only, but I buy what keeps me and my family safe
