Michelin tire

Anybody bought Michelin tires for their Forza yet? If so, how much did you pay? I just paid $622.24 for one, 255/80R/22.5 XRV. 2014 38R Forza, is this a good price?

Lots of tires out there that are just as good as Michelin and a lot cheaper and as a bonus they don't get sidewall cracks.

Using the FMCA Advantage program I bought 4 - 315/80's for $652.83 each and 4 - 365/70's for $689.33 each, incl FET. But that didn't include mounting/balancing either.

I also went took advantage of the FMCA discount and got mine for $518.40 each including FET and mounting/balancing. 235/80R 22.5 XRV

Had them installed in Canyon Country, CA, so I did have to travel 55 miles to get to the nearest authorized dealer. I shopped online and locally for similar size tires and picked this brand because that is what were on the coach from the PO. No cracks or wear, but they were almost 9 years old and had dated out.

I guess the price that I paid for a tire is not too far off I bought one to carry on the couch for a spare it fits in basement pass-through great it slides right in there I just wanted to be prepared in case we had a flat or a blowout at least I'll have the right size tire that can be mounted back up on my couch

When it needs replaced in 10 years, if never needed used.
It only cost you $62.22 a year plus some fuel to carry it with you.

Or the $62.22 a year could have been used for part of a ERS that could bring a spare to you if needed. In the 10 years.

Last time I needed a spare was in 2004 caused by a Michelin Zipper blow out.

After that was the 2nd zipper blow out I switched to G670's. 2 years ago after over 10 years 3 months of use the replacement G670's H 275/70/22.5 cost me $524.30 each out the door mounted, balanced & taxes.

You have made some good points. We do have ERS but I have read horror stories about owners being gouged for replacement tires ($1000 +) or the ERS bringing out the wrong size tire saying that's all they could find. I don't want to pay that much for a tire or wait for hours until they can find the right size. I think the extra weight lugging around the spare tire wouldn't affect my fuel mileage that much. If I have to, I can dismount and mount my own tire as I have done it before. I prefer to have the ERS mount the tire but if they tell me there is a long wait, I would rather do it myself. I have my own tools that I carry on the coach.

I am among the folks who have gone away from the Michelin tires. Many of us are going to Toyo M154's. But, as others have stated, Winnebago, FMCA and other RV clubs have deals with Michelin.

They will all get sidewall cracks.

In reference to the Michelin sidewall cracking I had Michelin stand tall and replace ALL 6 of my tires due to sidewall cracking. Total cost to me including NY tax, mounting, disposal fees, etc was $1350. So if anyone say Michelin doesn't cover sidewall cracking well proof is in the pudding.

Michelin buyer here for many years. Recently bought a set of Firestone tires. I think other brands have caught up, and don't think Michelin justifies the premium any longer.

I had Michelin tire for up to ten or more years had no cracking.I cover my tires when it is in storage here at the house and at the camping ground also use a tire protection to fight off sun rays.

I had 19.5 Michelins on ours and had great service with never a problem. Because i didn't know any better back then, i ran em for some 13 years.

Went to get the same tires for replacement but found that they were priced too high for my wallet. Did a lot of research and found that there were quite a few other alternatives. Saving $150 over the Michelin per tire, i went with Bridgstones in late 2015. They ride a bit firmer, otherwise i'm very pleased so far!

I just put 6 Michelin XRV 255/80R22.5 on my 2011 Itasca Meridian. Paid $535 each for the tires plus $21 ea. mounting and $21 ea balancing. Total out the door = $3716.63. Bought them at Commercial Tire in Albuquerque.

I checked into the FMCA Michelin program, but only 2 dealers in Albuquerque and neither one seemed very interested in my business. The guys at Commercial Tire only do truck and RV tires so they don't qualify for the FMCA plan, but almost $100 cheaper per tire than other shops around town.

Old tires were the originals, they were almost exactly 7 years old with 51.5K miles on them. The 4 outside tires did have some cracking. Big difference in tread depth when compared to new tires. We've done 1 800 mile trip since new tires installed and I can't say there is any difference in ride or handling - no issues, no problems, life is good

When my 2015 Forza 34T needs new rubber, I'll go with the Michelin XRV's. they are great tires as long as you take care of them, cover them when stored and keep the air pressure up.

I am one who was stung by Michelins that started cracking at 3 years! Michelin just kept saying "Cosmetic Only"! At 5 years they were so scarry I replaced with Toyo 144's... Great for about 9 months so far...
Then as an added bonus.. While here in Arizona for the snow bird portion of the winter I was having the Grand Cherokee washed and some how the sun hit one of the wheels the right way... "Damned" the Michelins on the car are cracked! Not the sidewalls but around each and every tread block on the tread of the tires! I had bought them at Discount tire so I went to Discount here in Havasu.. The rep came outside and said Michelin will say "Cosmetic Only"! I went nuts!!! The store manager was called out and he started to say the same thing! I said that wasn't acceptable. Long story short He adjusted the set as a "Customer Service" function.. I will never allow a Michelin on one of my Vehicles.. And then pay a premium to do it.. I have Coopers onmy Jeep now.. Thanks Discount for stepping up!

Can I ask how old your tires were that they replaced? Ours are just at 7 years and I'm a bit uncomfortable with them. We called corporate and they told us they were good for ten years but only warranted for 5. I'm still curious if something can be done. They also said warranty doesn't transfer and we purchased used coach. Another excuse.
