007 I think that's the Bilstein part number not Fords number. I would like to know the Ford part number stamped on the front shock as shipped from the factory.

If you need ford's part number for reasons other than replacement. Call Ford Customer Service always found them very helpful in the past. Good Miles

007, my understanding is the 2004 Ford F-53 chassis came with Bilstein factory installed (OEM) why would they not be equal to aftermarket Bilstein?? Also I understand they have a Ford Part number stamped on them not the aftermarket Bilstein part number.

I have a chance to buy a complete set of Shocks off a 2004 F-53 chassis. The shocks only have a couple thousand miles of use on them. They were taken off because the owner said it rode to stiff and he wanted a softer ride. I am told they are Bilstein and part of the rear number is the same as Bilstien 2717 with other letters to indicate a Ford part number. The front shock number is not the same as Bilstein aftermarket number of 2716. I would just like to know what number and letters are actually stamped on the front shock of someones original factory installed Bilstein shocks. My local Ford parts counter only shows the Bilstein part number and not the factory installed part number.

I can get this full set of shocks for $50, but I want to make sure they are the correct shocks. Dealer tells me 1999 through 2005 F-53 all use the same number shocks.

Are the front shocks the same Bilstein colors as the rear shocks? Blue an yellow. I would call Bilstein service maybe they can give you the correct information, they have been very helpful when I have called them. The Ford dealer may have already answered your question, because they would have to order for a correct replacement, shocks have a lifetime warrenty. I believe the numbers are stamped on the casing of the shock. The Bilsteins would be the same as the OEM supplied by Bilstein. I don't see any problem with your purchase good buy for a full set. ---"007"

Just in case anyone would like to know the Ford numbers for the factory installed Bilstein shocks on a 2004 F-53 are: 3C34 18045 AA Front and 3C34 18080 BA rears.

I installed a set of take offs with 2000 miles on them with the above numbers on our 2000 Itasca. Another owner had them removed from a 2004 chassis, reason they were to stiff. Had the Bilstein removed and a adjustable set of shocks installed. I did not realize how bad ours were till after a test drive. Like getting a new motorhome.

I have these shocks on my F53 and could anyone tell me the difference between these and the newest Bilstein offering? My Winnie rides and handles well(pleased with Bilsteins), however I do have the expansion joint issues at times. With the current state of our roads I don't see it getting any better. Just curious if the newest shock offers any improvement.
