I just wanted to let you folks know that own 22.5 inch tires on your motorhome that my initial experience with the wheel liners was that they would make more noise than a one-man band while travelling close in to a Jersey barrier.
The solution as applied by my dealership, Arlington RV Supercenter, was to install a rubber gasket between the hub cap and the wheel liner. I'm sure that this piece was ommited at the time of assembly at the plant.
It's easy to tell if you have this problem. Just grab your wheel liner and try to rotate it in the wheel. If it moves, it'll make noise for sure. If you're having this kind of problem then there is a fix for it, you just have to ask.

DriVer,
I have a noise problem in my passengers front wheel, sounded like gravel in the rim or a rubbing noise that is unrelated to brake action. Noise seems to be for 1/2 of every wheel rotation. Sound like the same thing to you?

That must be what I'm hearing in my backup monitor speaker. Happens only as the rig is moving. I'll be checking it closely.

If you go and apply the proceedure that I suggested, and if the wheel liner moves at all, it will certainly make noise while the wheel is rolling.

These liners would be less prone to making noise, in fact I don't recall my 19.5 liners making any noise.
This is what caught my attention. The 22.5 inch units on the front axle come in 2 pieces. I have not heard any noise coming from the rear liners. As you know the rear liners are deep dish units and as such are much better secured that the front liners.

DriVer,
Thanks as always for the response. I finally raised the front end of the coach off the ground and spun the wheel. Of all things, a 5 ounce wheel balance weight was broken and spinning on the rim without coming off. Ya know, some things you might see once in your lifetime, and this might be one of them.

Wheel Liner Solution
Pictures at Eleven ...
Notice the rubber gasket located in between the hub cap and the wheel liner. When the gasket was fitted, I couldn't hear a peep from the front wheel liners.
Just bringing up an old post, I did promise a picture and just remembered to shoot it. Here it is.

i have a question. I am trying to locate where i can buy a hub cap (like the one in the picture). I bent it. I do not need the liner, just the cap part. Thanks.

I noticed on my 19.5 wheels the liners made a noise mostly on turns. Next I started seeing a rust like color covering about an inch of the tire surface near the bead. Removing a liner I found the liner was rubbing on the outside edge of the rim right at the tire bead until it had wore the paint off the rim and had rusted. This was on a Ford F-53 chassis. I used some 5/16" vinyl tubing, cut pieces about 3" long, split them and placed them over the rim edge. Used about 6 pieces. Re-installed the liner, the liner now rests against the tubing and not the metal rim. I did clean and repaint the rim edge to end the rust. The vinyl seems to hold up very well and no more brown rust on the tires.

N8XV: I had the same problem you described and used the same remedy you did. I am on the 3rd year with this remedy and it is still working perfectly. No more rust stains on the tires. I originally was concerned it might disturb the wheel balance, it did not. Glad to see some one else testify.

Hey Driver.... I was just about to post a solution to your dilemma..... a nice set of polished aluminum but caught your post on the spinning wheel weight....even aluminum won't help that! Good reason for using Tap-a Weight instead of those old "mash-on" style..
Happy trails
