Micro Minnie 2306BHS

Just wanted to start a post for the Micro Minnie 2306BHS. Please post any comments, problems, modifications, etc. I am a new owner of a 2306BHS.

1st question, Was there a mid-year design change? Photos of the new 2020 models of the 2306BHS show a Fiberglass front caps, mine does not have have the Fiberglass cap, just the smooth gel coat finish. The certificate of origin for my 2020 2306BHS is dated in March 2019.

We have this model and love it. We have a 2019 and we noticed that the 2020 fixed some of the things that we wished were done in the 2019.

Things like access doors to the under dinette storage. I know the newer micro minnies have switched over to Azdel, which was also something we were hoping to get but alas it was not meant to be in our model year LOL.

Nonetheless we love our rig. It’s covered now for winter storage and I look at it and can’t wait to get back on the road

We had the back of the TV crack and break, almost having the TV fall right off the mount. We do travel some rough roads to get to more remote back country areas where we dry camp. It is being fixed under warranty, however a solution to preventing the issue from reoccurring is to place a strap that you can tighten around the TV and the mount or just around the TV with the ends secured to the wall in order to reduce the amount of shaking and bouncing the TV will have when traveling rough roads.
We also had a trim clearance issue when we closed up our slide after a week camping trip...which is strange because the slide deployed without issue but then at the end of the week when we brought the slide back in, a vertical trim piece contacted the lower trim/step under the slide and I had to physically trim off about 3/16 of an inch of the vertical piece with my leatherman saw to get the slide closed. We were leveled properly on the site, so I'm not sure if the slide just settled a bit...but there should have been a bit more clearance between the trim pieces from the factory so keep an eye on that.
Otherwise we do like the unit and it's so easy to tow with it being 7 feet wide(a lot less drag than a typical 8 foot wide), our only real complaints are a lack of upper cabinet space and the TINY tanks. The black tank is fine at 25 gallons, but a 25 gallon grey tank sucks and a 31 gallon fresh tank is pretty small as well.

RACKMAN, Thanks for the post, I will look a ways to secure the TV as I plan on going to our regular camp spot at Marsh Lake, Unita Mountains in Utah this July in the new 2306BHS. It has 20 miles of rough washboard dirt roads on the way into the lake.

The dinette storage doors seem to be a running change as our 2019 2108FBS Model has them, but ours was manufactured late just before the 2020's came out, just like yours most 2019 don't have them. - but it's a change you could do yourself!, heck they may even send you the doors that match if you want them.

They are kindda handy to about 2ft in, but we really would like some pull out tray system instead (working on that)

Under the stove there's a blind panel with about 2 x 2 x 1 dead space behind it,
thinking about putting a door there too, the 2306BHS seems to have the same panel.

Rackman, is there a gravity feed to fill the fresh water tank on the 2020? I just pulled the trigger on one (waiting for it to arrive next week) and can't remember?

Wont be able to pick it up for a few (days/weeks?????) as PA is shut down..

Yes. It’s on the curb side of the trailer.

Yes, there were some changes in the ‘20 model year. In April of ‘19 we purchased a ‘20 model year 2306 and it had a polished cap. I’m January we saw a ‘20 at an rv show and the changes I saw included:

Flush mount stove
Single basin sink
Fiberglass nose cap

There were more I just can’t remember what they were at the moment

They probably also changed the exterior walls to that supposedly more waterproof stuff, Azdel.

The 2306BHS models with the Azdel do not have the gel coat finish and just started to arrive at the dealers about 3 weeks ago just before the factory shutdown. Easy to recognize the Azdel models because of the change of the exterior finish.

I'd heard the finish was different, but didn't hear there was a delay in the changeover.

Personally I was glad to have the old stuff not due to the finish, but instead just because I don't like getting things when they are just changing over. First model year of a car versus the last I'll take the last every time.

Maybe someone else will know, I understand that a new production line was put online with the Azdel changeover. More robots cutting and producing parts. My 2020 2306BHS was build in April 2019 and does not have the fiberglass front cap, so it was more of year change than model change. It is still sitting on the side of my house, new, unused, covered, winterized from the factory/or dealer since purchased in Nov 2019. Waiting for the OK to travel.

I pick mine up 18May, a little over 3 weeks away! It's a 2021, I was wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of the slide? I am wanting to order a topper and make it a DIY project. Thanks in advance!

I decided to drop my order for the 2108TB and move to a 2306BHS which should be built in the near future. I'm curious how people like towing the 2306BHS. I really wanted a shorter trailer but circumstances changed. Has the length of the 2306BHS limited your camping options at all? It looks like the axles are far enough back that the tongue weight and stability should be pretty good. I'll be towing it with an F-350 diesel (single rear wheel), so the good news is the trailer is safely within the capabilities of the tow vehicle. Thanks in advance for any comments about the towing experience.

backtrack15, it will tow like it's not even there with your truck, easy to park. Just start looking for posts on mattress replacement will your waiting. Mattress is 53" X 72" 6" or 8" high. Memory foam mattress topper for the bunk beds if you have kids.

I'm sure there might be a couple of situations where the shorter trailer would be better, but I would guess they would be far and few in-between. And you have plenty of truck! If the larger one is better for you . . ..

Thanks for the towing comments.

The first of the 2021.5 2306BHS models literally just appeared on RV Trader (Mike Jones Ford Lincoln, in GA).

Notable Changes:
(1) It looks like the GVWR is now 6000 lbs instead of 7000 lbs. Not good.
(2) Axles are now 4000 instead of 3700.
(3) The dry weight must have been 4500 lbs (like before) since the cargo capacity was listed as 1500 lbs.
(4) The interior cabinetry changed. The kitchen cabinets are now white (modern thing?).
(5) It looks like the Murphy design has changed to a split mattress (not a single mattress on a pivoting support).
(6) The front pass-through storage looks different from the outside (more interior height, less width... which I found in a listing for a new 2108DS).
(7) There appear to be interior cabinets/drawers beside and underneath the couch.
(8) It looks like there are new stabilizer jacks which unfortunately hang down quite a bit more than the previous units. Maybe I can install the old units. I guess they'll provide an early warning that you're about to remove your tank dump line.
(9) It looks like the furnace was moved into the pantry area, most likely to avoid baking the kids in the bunks.
(10) I also see a switch for a tank heater.
(11) Storage drawer rather than an oven.
(12) Convection microwave.

I don't like the reduction in GVWR... but 6000 will work for me. I'm nervous about the new Murphy, although the increase in storage is nice. We'll have to see what it is like in person.

I tow with A 1500 3.0L duramax and I can't tell it's back there. I have never had a problem with it's size. The dual axle makes it super easy to back in anywhere.
