Jensen JWM70A

We have a 30RLSS with Jensen JWM70A DVD entertainment center that keeps freezing when playing DVDs for the kids. Have tried several DVDs dealer says there isn’t a problem. Has anyone replaced their player would like a BluRay if so what brand and model?

Intermittent problems are hard to troubleshoot but if it's under warranty it would be best to get the unit replaced before the warranty ends (followed by total failure).
I'd suggest making a video of the playback problems, show the DVD (both sides) before inserting it and keep recording until the playback freezes. Take the video with you, or post it on YouTube, to show the dealer as proof of the problem.

I have not found an automotive/RV entertainment head unit that has BluRay. My guess is they don't want to invest in the licensing costs.

I'm in the process of installing a BluRay player in our 2106FBS. The picture quality from the Jensen in ours isn't that great for DVD's and since it won't play BluRay will be relegated to music and radio.

On our trailer there is a 9 3/8" X 4 3/4" blank panel above the Jensen. My intention is to build a shelf and cut a whole in the front for the BluRay to poke through. When I installed one in our last trailer I used Velcro and wooden blocks to keep the player in place. I intend to do the same this time as well. I don't know how reliable it is but I bought a Sony BDP-S1700 this go as it can be tied directly into the 12V power system meaning I don't have to worry about how to get AC to the unit. I'll just tie into the same wires the Jensen's uses. Since the player is always on I'm going to add a power switch inside the adjoining cabinet. I am also going to reuse the existing HDMI cable from the Jensen to the TV. Probably more than you wanted hear. Sorry about that.
