I have seen maybe 3 Winnebago's trailers ( minnie's) in the last 3 years. Stopped at 2 RV dealers this summer who according to the factory rep carry the Winnebago (One) Ultralite. But once we got there, both said they only carry the Minnie now because the Ultralite's were to expansive. The Minnie's are too small for us. But I wanted to see the quality of the build in the Ultralite's....

One dealer each in Cincinnati (Holman RV) and south of Cleveland Ohio

Looking for something in the 26' - 28' length, but higher quality than Dutchman (Thor)or Keystone.

There is Winnebago Minnie Towables and that is all about our Minnies. It is part of the Winnebago forum.[/QUOTE]

Is this that forum? I am a little confused by the forum/thread business. Is this forum all about Minnie towable a and then a thread is within the forum? Is there a thread or a forum about "on the road and places to go?" We are in Haines AK at Haines HitchUp RV park. It is the nicest park we've seen so far!

This forum page, Winnebago Industries Owners Forum was originally only about Winnebago motor homes. I think I made the first post here, and consequently, there are a couple threads here that seem to have a life of their own. There are also some threads on the Travel Trailer forum page, and that forum page is for stuff related to travel trailers of all brands.

To my knowledge, there isn't a true forum for only Winnebago Towable products (travel trailers and fifth wheel trailers). And to complicate matters more, the Winnebago Towable division also continued to make trailers under the Sunnybrook name, but from what I can tell, that has stopped as any search for 2016 models leads me to Winnebago trailers.

So, for now, this seems to be the place if Winnebago trailer owners want to post on a forum that is set up for owners of Winnebago products. But, we are such a small minority that the vast majority of posts pertain to motor homes.

I would agree...

I sure wish I could actually view one of the higher end Winnebago Ultralite models. From what I have seen on the Minnie's they were put together better than my Thor product.

The ultralight models are about the same quality as the Minnie. The old ONE line was a step up, but they discontinued it, I think due to weight = less volume. The 5th wheels span the spectrum from good to awesome.
It's too bad about the ONE. I might soon be interested in a bigger TT with that kind of quality.

End of May this year I towed our Minnie from NW Florida to Northern MI. I saw one Minnie (orange) headed south bound on I65 in Tennessee. I will be making the return trip early Oct. My boss thinks I look like Halloween coming down the road.

Without seeing the quality level of the Winnebago One's, do you mean the One's were a higher class than the Ultralite's made now?

Wow...I'm just catching up with this new line of trailers. I think there is a market for smaller trailers, and it may be showing that Winnebago is committed to staying in the trailer market. When I've seen their sales figures for the number of units sold, I have had a few nagging doubts in my mind. It will be interesting to see how much we see and hear about this line when the 2016 season hits full stride.

Meanwhile....about 11 weeks to go and we head south for a reprieve from northern Ohio weather. Then again....it has been a pretty mild November/December so far!

OK...I'm starting to see a few Minnies in our travels....heads up to any Minnie owners or folks traveling in Florida. Did I see your Minnie lately? A little over a week ago, we were checking out three RV resorts located on the Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers. As we pulled into one resore, there was a nice red Minnie checking in. Then, on last Wednesday, we were headed north on the 75 up to Rainbow Springs SP and passed a nice Champagne Minnie that appeared to have a fridge on the back wall. If it was you, I'm sure you saw our white Minnie towed by our red Tundra.

It's really great to see that on the two most popular threads about Minnies that most owners are happy with their units and enjoying being Minnie owners.

We just reserved a spot in Yellowstone for mid July. Planning on hitting another 4-5 parks and about 5k miles this summer.

We have Minnie 1801FB. Love it. But want bigger. My question is this: The 1801 is 3300 lbs. our 2006 Toyota Sequoia 4.7 ,V8 pulls it great. Ihe one we want is 2351BKS. IS 5080 lbs. will we be able to pull it easily?

From what I see, your truck has a 6,500 lb. tow capacity. If that is correct, I would not advise pulling a trailer that has a dry weight of 5,080 lbs. By the time you add personal gear, water, etc., you are going to be at or over the tow rating. I think you need to keep the dry weight at 4K or less, which means you would be towing 5K or less by monitoring how much you weight you add. Although many will consider me a bit too conservative, I'm a believer in only towing 75-80% of the maximum tow weight.

Creekwood, I'd recommend upgrading the tow vehicle if you want to tow the 2351. Most any late model 1/2 pickup will do just fine.

Creekwood, you should be fine. You have 1,420 of leeway. I have 660# of leeway on my tow vehicle and I had no issues all last year. Plenty of power, no towing issues, a spectacular summer of camping in comfort. Just use common sense and realize that you are towing and not driving an unloaded vehicle. Have fun.
