2019 RAM with air suspension

I wonder if I need WDH with airbags as my truck auto levels when hitching up.
I suspect that I do but may have to disable air suspension before hooking up.
I have just changed from a Winnebago view 24j back to minnie plus.

Howdy,
I suppose it has some to do with your tongue weight, 2500 or 3500 truck, and trailer GVWR. I towed a bumper pull with a 2500 that had a 1000 lb tongue weight with weight distribution for years then decided to haul a golf cart in the bed of the truck which did max out the truck. I added air bags & Hellwig stabilizer bars, hitched up as usual then added air to final level. Worked great for several years and many miles using both weight distribution and air bags.

There is an ultimate purpose for weight distribution in general though. I found this video a while back that's pretty good at demonstrating the different effects between air bags and weight distribution.

I have a Ram 1500 with air suspension that I used to tow a travel trailer with. I always used to use the wdh because it settled the trailer down a bit when towing. I towed it just on the ball once and it was more active back there. I usually just hooked it up with the air suspension on. Its going to correct to level whether its on or off when you hook up.

I read someplace that air suspension need to be disabled before hooking up (like flat tire setting) then it resets itself when start towing. I have not towed yet with My new 2019 Ram so I am not expert.

I had a Grand Cherokee with the self leveling air suspension. You have to disable it so you can get the correct height settings front to back.
