Slide problem

I have a 2017 Winnebago Destination with slide problems.. When putting the slides in or out, the slides will go for a short distance and stop. I wait about 10 seconds and hear a pop noise and slide will resume, but, stop again after a short distance. This occurs several times until slides are all the way out or in. I replaced the batteries, so that is not the problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

I had an issue with a previous fifth wheel that sounds like your issue. Mine was an auto-reset breaker that was stopping the slide. The issue was my fault and all that the slide needed was lube. I used a dry spray lube (not wd40) on the moving parts of the slide and worked fine after that.

I had that problem with my 2008 Winnebago Destination (MH) and it turned out to be a broken tooth in the motor. Replaced motor and all was well.

On our previous 5th wheel, the problem got worse as the outside temperature dropped. The reset breakers were only 40 amps. Lippert had a bulletin out for this problem, it was to replace the 40 amp reset breakers for 80 amp breakers. Our dealer replaced them and no problems after that.

Jim, what was the final verdict on your slide problem?
