Why 2 load ratings for E350?

Most are 11500# but some are 12500# is this just a difference in spring rates? I am going to get a 22m and with tongue wt. I will be at or a little over 11500# and would prefer to buy off the lot and not special order a 450 so I'm thinking if its just spring rate I could put an adjustable air bag system on the rig or add a leaf or two. If you have knowledge on this issue I would appreciate your opinion, thanks.

Hi Les,
I am only seeing 11,500 Lbm rating for the E-350s on the Minnie Winnie:

Thanks, Eagle5

The 12,500 appear to be DRW (dual rear wheel) models. The 11,500 appear to be SRW (single rear wheel) models. There are some in between.

What chassis does Winnebago use for the 22M?

If it's a DRW, it should have the higher rating, if I read the specs here correctly.

It looks like in 2017 that Ford sold the generic cutaway van E-350 DRW 158" wheelbase both ways; with a 11,500 Lbm payload and also with a 12,500 Lbm payload. I suspect that Ford never offered the E-350 12,500 Lbm rating for the Motorhome Prep Package, which Winnebago would have purchased for outfitting into a Minnie Winnie 22M.
