Well, I got real lucky. I had called a couple mobile repair places and they would not even attempt to get on the military base - said it was to difficult.
On the way into the CG there was a mobile repair truck there and I stopped an asked if they worked on slides. They did. They finished up the job, came to my site and did an evaluation - pulled the motor out. Gears were stripped.
I called Lichtsinn RV in Forest City, IA and had the motor shipped to me. These were HWH motors, but Lippert has been real helpful with this new to us MH when I have called them. There motors are a lot smaller than the HWH I had on the 2008.
Yes, there are mechanical ways of retracting a slide when it is stuck and the manual identifies how to do this. Most times it takes two people and it is not just pushing the slide in, it requires two people working together ratcheting the slide in with wrenches. Sometimes a beefy person can push on the slide while the controller is activated to make it easier for the slide to go in, or even several people. Once in - don't put it out again until fixed.
On this new to us 2015 MH I actually went to Elkhart, IN and Tech Masters and they had the bad motor out and the new one in - in less than an hour.
Lippert has dealers all over the US and they can help also. Unfortunately some of those dealers are RV Sales places and they will only work on RV's purchased from them, That is what happened to us. Guess business is great for them,
