I have a 2002 Ultimate Advantage with the factory installed Sony rear view camera. My camera has quit working. What is the best way to test if it is a camera or cable or monitor problem? If it is the camera how does the cable route to the front of the coach? Thanks!!!

I have not had any experience with this problem and fortunately mine is still working. I would suggest you first make sure there is voltage reaching the camera. If not it could lead you in another direction.

Unplug the cables from the back of the in dash monitor and plug into a TV. If you get a picture and sound your camera and wiring are OK.

Then plug the output from a video or digital camera or the video out from a laptop computer into the rear of the in dash monitor. You should have sound and video on your monitor.

We had to replace ours. Cost $225 plus postage. RV CAMS Inc. 877-378-2267 www,RVCams.com Sony gave us the number. Nice people to do business with. Be very careful taking it out that you don't pull that connection loose and drop the cable inside the coach. Good Luck

We just replaced ours on our '04 Suncruiser...with another Sony. But we had ext warranty and it only cost us $110.

Most of the time it's the camera...so the tech told us. Our screen was sort of not black and not white.

Thanks for all the great info!
So if I find the camera to be bad- is there a connection in the cable at the back of the coach? I removed the cover so I could see the camera & cable, I did not want to pull on the cable at the camera.

I have a new bago. It has the three camera system, lost rear camera or so I thought. Switch leads on back of monitor and found out it was somewhere in the monitor. New monitor is now on the way for installation.

My rearview system quit working. I purchased a new camera for $225. Didn't help but can't return camera. They won't take it back once package is open. Then purchased new dash monitor. Monitor was the problem. It now works but total cost was over $600. I think several things, including Sony rearview system were substandard in the 2004 Winnebago's, however Winnebago would not help because it was out of warranty.

We had to replace ours as well.
after 2years.?
the Coach manufacturers are apparently aware that those SONY's were dying......
SONY is aware , obviously
Its a shame that we all have to go through that
I wish SONY would at LEAST given us a rebate or trade in on it..........
