Skylight Cracks 2014 iQ View (24V)

2014 iQ View has serious cracks in the skylight over driver compartment. Not sure what cause was. They were there from previous owner and have gotten worse with time (though they don't leak...yet.) Anybody else experience skylight cracks? If so, what was your repair experience? I am told the skylight costs $1000 and installation adds another $1000. Our local Cocoa Fl Winnebago dealer says they won't install it if I order the skylight from Winnebago Ind and get my 10 percent discount! I would like to get the repair done somewhere else.

Do you mean the forward facing window over the cab area? Hmmm, never thought of it as a skylight.

Are there any auto-glass shops in Melbourne, FL? Have you asked any of them to have a look, and tell them you can get the replacement glass/part. If Winnebago can do it, I'm sure Safelite or whoever can, too.

Yes, it is the forward facing window above the driver cab. I checked in the 2014 brochures and they refer to it as a skylight. Good idea to check with the glass places in town. I am pretty sure the RV shops would sub it out to the glass shops. Thanks!

"Aerodynamically efficient, forward facing, panoramic overhead window" didn't fit in the brochure I guess.

Yes, I'd try the local auto-glass shops, and you're probably right about the RV dealers farming it out to them.
Good luck with it.

Cracked skylight

The skylight over my shower was cracked on my previous motorhome. Local RV repair shop repaired it with a clear coating material made for that purpose. Never had any more problems with it.
