Does the stock head unit have CarPlay? If so, enable it on your iPhone and plug it in. If not, you’ll have to find a different head unit. My Honda has it and I love it.

You are going to have to find a head unit that duplicates all the Mercedes things and the rear camera that the current head unit works with.

We just sync our iPhone using Bluetooth and can listen to music or make calls just fine. Trying to get new software that has apple CarPlay it some new connector sounds “too hard” to me.

I purchased a iphone / iPad adapter. Lighting to HDMI then used HDMI cord to plug into HDMI port on sprinter video screen. It mirrored what was on my iPad or phone onto screen in sprinter. This is Winnebago system. Plan on using google or apple nav on iPhone or iPad and mirror on sprinter screen for navigation.

CarPlay gives native control to things like texting, navigation, Siri, etc.
