Has anyone used a drop receiver hitch on a Navion/View? I would like to lower my scooter ramp with an 8" drop hitch, but I'm not sure how it would work over uneven terrain. Any experience out there? I just added the SSR-338-54 Sumo Springs in the rear, so it is slightly higher (1"+/-) than original.
Thanks,
Bob

We have the Sumo Springs as well and had to change from a 4" to 6" drop hitch for our SUV towed so that the tow bar was "level". And in our case we use a 5000# Blue Ox.
When you are using a motorcycle carrier, the LAST thing you want to do is to lower the hauler. Take a rope and jamb it on the underside of your rear wheel (in contact with the road surface), and draw it up tight to the lowest part on your rear undercarriage. You should not drop below this departure angle, and in fact, it is better to be a little above this departure angle. I used a 10" RISER hitch for my VersaHaul: http://www.winnieowners.com/forums/f...2m-354205.html
