Cable TV from Campground not working - Fixed

Probably not an issue with many experienced RV'ers, but since this is our first shakedown trip, I thought I would share my experience.

Stayed and used cable TV in 1 campground prior to coming to Mesa. Had cable but it was very blurry and really not worth trying to watch it. When we arrived in Mesa, hooked up cable TV and did the scan and received no channels. We had about 30 over the air channels so it really was no big deal. However, since I was riding my bike past the office, I decided to report the issue. Well the cable guys came out the next day and the first thing they say to me was, "is your signal booster off"? I told them I have a power antenna but I don't think I have a signal booster. They told me that nearly 100% of newer rigs have one and they, along with me started looking. By the way, they were very nice and helpful.

Well, behind the TV in the kitchen there is an HDMI port, a cable TV port, and then the satellite hookups. To the right of the cable TV port on the same wall plate is a small button. That button is the booster!! This must be "off" if you are hooked up to cable TV. On, if you are using the over the air antenna. Here is a pic of the ports and you can see the little button to the right of the cable TV connection. Click image for larger version

Just thought I would share for all you newbies out there.

P.S. That button and light does need to be On when using the antenna but the signal level button on the antenna can be left Off.
