2015 Navion not wired for solar

We are considering a used coach and it does not have solar and the owner brochure for that year makes no mention of it, so we are assuming it is not wired...has anyone done a solar install on one of these units when it has not been 'pre-wired'. I would appreciate any insight...and maybe some ballpark figures for cost...thank you in advance!

Instead of assuming you could check the schematics to be sure, or call winn direct and have them look it up for you. I would call a local winn dealer and ask what they would charge to do the install - it will give you a starting point.

There are many variables with solar also, converter, panel manufacturers etc.

I have a 2017 View. I wired in my solar system myself. Check my profile for the album on solar. Basic electrical knowledge is all it takes. Send me a PM if you have questions.

My Navion was a early 2017 and the schematics did not show wiring. I pulled the seat to install a Trick-L-Start and found the 8ga wire for solar. I pulled the faceplate on the cupboard above the refer and it's there. Now I have asked the factory where to exactly drill my hole on the roof.

Hello Bobbo,

I asked because I cannot read electrical schematics...we have mostly been looking at newer models prior to this...I did look thru a few brochures and am still researching...I could build the frame out of steel or aluminum, at least I could when I was younger, but don't ask me to wire anything...that is my wife's area of expertise...we also posed the question to the dealership out of state, pretty sure they don't know. We will order an inspection report if we get serious about purchasing, as it has been lightly used...it is an IQ V with diesel gen, a CCC of almost 1400# and not much else, which is what we want...

Yup, I understand. I do some work on my View but more and more I have the dealership just do it.

I had a similar issue of trying to get working diagrams for the plumbing on my Truma insta hot system - it was plumbed wrong from the factory and I couldn't isolate the heater. The Truma specifically warns not to put anti freeze fluid or compressed air through the unit. With my dealer's help it has a few new valves that fixes the issue.

Good luck with your purchase.
